After continuing along the edge of the Dead Spirit Canyon for the next three days without anything unexpected happening along the way, Chu Yang was overjoyed to spot a familiar building appearing in the distance.
Even from a distance, he could tell that it was the old tower that had a teleportation formation inside of it that he had used to cross over the Dead Spirit Canyon in the past- Or at the very least what remained of the tower, as it seemed like part of it had broken off and fallen into the dead Spirit Canyon at some point in time.
Although this old tower wasn't what he hoped to see, as the ancient city ruins with the path out of the secret realm would have been far better to encounter in his opinion, he also didn't complain too much about it as he understood that finding the old tower at the very least meant that he was now somewhere familiar and not in some unknown location like had been his fear at first.
After all, for all he knew, he might have not even been moving in the right direction by following the edge of the Dead Spirit Canyon and could have been going in the complete opposite direction from the one that he needed to go to reach somewhere familiar.
At the very least, now that he was here, Chu Yang decided to take the opportunity to inspect what was left of the old tower to see if there was any indication that the teleportation formation, he had used in the past might still be usable.
And... Nope... The place in the tower where the teleportation formation had once been had already partly broken off and ended up in the waters below. Rendering the teleportation formation and what little was left of it completely unusable.
"Looks like I will have to make my way through that desert if I want to make my way back in the direction of the other entrance..." Muttering this to himself as he began recalling what he could remember about the entrance to the secret realm that he had first used to enter this secret realm in the past, Chu Yang couldn't help feeling a slight shiver run down his spine.
The entrance itself had been on top of a stone platform that had later ended up crashing into a Dao Seed Realm demon beast in the form of a giant turtle that had been sleeping beneath the stone platform where the gate out of the secret realm had been located.
Even though the stone platform with the gate leading out of the secret realm had crashed into the turtle demon beast in the Dao Seed Realm, Chu Yang was confident that the gate should still be intact somewhere in the rubble that had been left behind, as a gate to a secret realm was not that simple to destroy.
The main reason he had not thought about, using it nor had the ones who had come together with him into the secret realm back then, was because of the presence of the Dao Seed Realm demon beast guarding the area around the gate.
However, just as he began to set off, a cracking sound of earth being torn apart sounded out from behind him, as he turned around and watched as what little remained of the ancient tower broke off from the side of the Dead Spirit Canyon before starting to slowly ascend into the sky, a kind of ancient mechanism in place to protect from the rising waters of the Dead Spirit Canyon.
After all, if the water level rising was a normal occurrence, it would definitely have been in a far worse state than it is now. Not to mention, signs of the water should have also been present on the ancient tower.
Not just the ancient tower, but the ancient city should be the same, as it should also have ascended in a similar fashion. Turning into a small floating island to avoid the raging waters of the Dead Spirit Canyon.

Not even having to think about the situation for more than a few seconds, Chu Yang directly turned around and jumped on top of the slowly ascending piece of land that the ancient tower was on top of before it got too high into the air.
Hoping to not just get a better layout of the surrounding area from up high now that he couldn't fly up and get a better idea of where he was moving, but also because he was wondering if there were other ancient structures inside of the secret realm outside of the ancient city and tower.
Planning to see if he might be able to spot them and find another time in the future to explore them if possible.
He didn't really worry about how to get down, as in his current cultivation realm, he could easily negate any kind of damage he might take from falling up high. Not to mention, he would not really take any damage in most situations any way.
At the same time, he also hoped that he might be able to use the opportunity to break through the invisible barrier that seemed to have prevented him from ascending more than a few hundred meters into the air when he had been able to fly in the past inside the secret realm.

And... Just like he had expected, he soon crossed that barrier standing on top of the small island.
