#416 - Chapter 150: Parting on bad terms

At the banquet, Daenerys delivered a short speech, expressing her delight in sharing the joy with everyone and thanking them for their support. She believed that as long as everyone worked together, they could create a better future. Following this, Daenerys officially declared the banquet open, and people indulged in the delicious food and wine. Songs and laughter intertwined, filling the entire scene with a harmonious atmosphere.

Robb sat beside the Queen, recounting recent events at the Wall to Liu Yuan, occasionally bursting into hearty laughter. He discussed the handling of Stannis's subordinates and mentioned an important decision: to have Bran prepare to marry Shireen. This decision had been approved and blessed by the Northern lords, as it would help solidify the alliance between the two houses.

As the eldest brother, Robb naturally took charge of arranging his brother's wedding, and Catelyn had specially traveled from Winterfell to discuss the wedding details of the two children with Selyse Florent.

The matter was basically settled. Bran, as the acting head of the family, took over the army, with Davos serving as his deputy to coordinate various affairs. To maintain the independence of Stannis's remnants, they were renamed the 'Fire Deer Army' and stationed at the Night's Watch's four castles: Westwatch-by-the-Bridge, Shadow Tower, Sentinel Stand, and Greyguard. Catelyn stayed with Bran at the Shadow Tower, and Selyse and Shireen also resided there.

When Catelyn was mentioned, Robb looked at Liu Yuan with a hint of resentment. Daenerys noticed Robb's expression and glanced thoughtfully at Liu Yuan.

Liu Yuan calmly said, "It's a good idea; it's a good home for them. Of course, the Queen's permission is required. I personally believe that the grudges of the fathers should not be passed on to the next generation." He knew that this would also be a good thing for Bran.

Daenerys smiled and nodded, agreeing with Liu Yuan's view. She turned to Robb and said softly, "I agree with Marquis Galon's opinion. Stannis has already atoned for his sins with his life. His daughter's marriage to Bran can bring us peace. After the war in the North is over, I will personally preside over their wedding."

Just then, an Unsullied quickly entered the banquet hall. He swiftly approached Daenerys, leaned in, and whispered a few words in her ear. Daenerys's face instantly darkened, her eyes revealing a hint of worry and anger.

She slowly stood up, her gaze sweeping across everyone present, and said in a serious tone, "Everyone, I have just received news that 'Kingslayer' Jaime Lannister, representing the Westerlands, has responded to the summons and personally led his army to the Wall."

The atmosphere in the banquet hall instantly became tense. Everyone stopped what they were doing and stared silently at the head table. Their eyes were filled with doubt, as if waiting for an impending storm.

"How dare he come here?" someone whispered, their voice filled with disbelief.

"Shouldn't he be hiding in Casterly Rock?" another echoed.

People began to murmur, speculating about Jaime Lannister's intentions. Some believed he might be coming to sue for peace, but more were convinced that he would not easily abandon his hatred for the Targaryen family.

Robb frowned, his eyes flashing with thoughtful light. He turned to Liu Yuan and asked, "Why would the 'Kingslayer' come? Does he want to join us?"

Liu Yuan gently shook his head and replied, "No, he won't change his position. Cersei will not give up the Iron Throne and power, and Jaime will not abandon Cersei and Tommen. He's here to buy time, gambling on the Queen's promise with his life. Tyrion, the Hand of the Queen, has been a little too confident lately." Jaime's arrival beyond the Wall without Daenerys's prior notification suggests that Tyrion, the Queen's Hand, isn't the only one who could have arranged for the Lannisters to arrive at Eastwatch-by-the-Sea so silently.

Daenerys said with a firm gaze, "In any case, since the Lannister family has fulfilled the ancient oath, then he is our ally. We will face the great enemy of mankind together!" With that, she turned and left the banquet hall.

Liu Yuan watched Daenerys's departing figure, sighing inwardly. He knew that this decision was not easy for Daenerys, after all, Jaime had once been her enemy, but now they needed to unite all forces that could be united to fight against the Night King and the White Walker army.

Liu Yuan followed Daenerys out of the banquet hall, and the two walked side by side in the corridor, neither of them speaking.

Back in her room, Daenerys sulkily buried herself under the covers. Liu Yuan waved to Missandei, signaling her to leave. Then he walked to the bed, pulled back the covers, and reached out to stroke Daenerys's smooth, long hair, "What's wrong? Still angry?"

"Yes, my enemy is right in front of me. But I can't do anything to him because of my oath. So annoying!" Daenerys said grumpily, her little mouth pouting high, looking like a little girl.

Liu Yuan couldn't help but find it amusing. Daenerys usually presented herself as a strong and decisive figure, often making people forget that she was just a young woman who had just turned twenty. He reached out and put his arm around Daenerys's waist, gently stroking her slightly bulging abdomen, feeling the pulse of life. Daenerys also enjoyed this warmth, resting her head on Liu Yuan's shoulder. She knew that she had met someone who truly understood and loved her.

At this moment, in the haunted forest beyond the Wall. The original Craster's Keep has now become a ruin. Countless wights, under the command of the White Walkers, are using crude tools, even skeletal hands, to dig into the hard ground. They work tirelessly, as if searching for something important.

The longhall where Craster and his wives once lived is now covered in ice and snow. The Night King sits on an ice spider, his cold gaze fixed on everything before him. He holds a horn in his hand, a symbol of his power. Around him, dozens of tall White Walkers stand respectfully, their armor noticeably more exquisite than that of other White Walkers. These White Walkers are all the Night King's confidants, possessing great power and wisdom.

In White Walker society, there is a strict hierarchy, with the Night King at the top of the pyramid, possessing absolute authority in the clan. They are communicating with each other in a low, guttural roar, a sound that only White Walkers can understand.

In the center of the longhall is a miniature sand table of the Wall, created by the Night King using ice magic. It not only shows the Wall's majesty and grandeur but also depicts in detail the surrounding terrain, castles, and military installations.
