#530 - Chapter 17: The Autobots Are Coming (I)

"Hey, buddy, did you hear? I just caught the news, the military seems to be in some trouble," the driver said enthusiastically, striking up a conversation with Liu Yuan.

"Yeah, I heard a bit," Liu Yuan replied absentmindedly. His mind was currently consumed with how to equip his puppets with weapons, and he wasn't particularly interested in anything else.

"The military seems to be planning something big. They say 40 C17s have taken off consecutively. What are they up to? Another Gulf War..." the driver rambled on, seemingly full of curiosity and speculation about these military actions.

As the car drove through the city, Liu Yuan looked out the window, contemplating his next move. He knew the dangers of this mission, but he was determined to complete it. Just then, four large fireballs appeared in the sky, instantly lighting up the street as if it were daytime. One of the fireballs headed straight for them, and the driver swerved sharply, nearly crashing into a store on the side of the road.

"Good heavens! What was that?" the driver shouted in terror.

Liu Yuan immediately became alert, realizing that things might be going wrong. Immediately afterward, the fireball crashed not far away, creating a huge explosion.

"Not good, get out of here!" Liu Yuan shouted.

The driver hurriedly got out of the car, pointing at the burning area and excitedly shouting, "Wow! Did you see that? It's a meteor! It fell right in front of me! Nothing could be more exciting than this!" He completely forgot about the danger, his eyes fixed on the burning meteor.

Seeing many people running towards it, the driver abandoned the car and followed them. Liu Yuan shook his head helplessly. He turned off the taxi, then took out $15 and placed it, along with the car keys, on the sun visor.

He had not anticipated the arrival of the Autobots to be so quick. Bumblebee only sent the signal yesterday! The entire street was blocked, with vehicles everywhere. People were in a frenzy, and the streets were filled with onlookers. TV broadcast vans and reporters arrived at the scene even before the police. Liu Yuan had to walk two blocks away to catch a taxi.

By the time he finally got home, the night was already deep. Not long after, he heard a commotion in the yard. Then, the lights flickered a few times before suddenly going out, probably due to a transformer failure.

"Knock, knock, knock," someone knocked on the door. Liu Yuan went over and opened the door, surprised to find Sam and a girl standing there, looking nervous.

Sam said urgently, "Mr. Liu, I'm very sorry to bother you so late. Something very serious has happened, and I need to get back the glasses I gave you that day."

Liu Yuan stretched out his hand, pointing behind him and said, "Indeed, the situation is very serious, even the FBI has been dispatched."

Eight black ACADIAs with dazzling red lights, parked neatly in front of Sam's house, extremely conspicuous in the dark night. The car doors opened slowly, and a group of mysterious figures in black suits and sunglasses filed out, holding various advanced instruments and equipment, looking serious and professional, as if they were special agents from a movie.

These people rudely broke into the Witwicky's house, not even sparing the backyard. Sam was stunned by this sudden scene. In a panic, he forgot to take the glasses, and rushed towards his home while shouting, "Hey, who are you? Why are you here? Get out!"

A leading agent came to Sam, his eyes cold and firm: "You are Sam Witwicky? Good kid, please come with us!"

The leading agent said to his subordinates, "Check all of them, and those two as well." He pointed to Liu Yuan and Mikaela.

Several agents, holding a device similar to a detector, began to check Liu Yuan and the others. As they approached Mikaela, the detector's pointer suddenly spun wildly and emitted a piercing alarm. The agent shouted, "Agent Simmons, over 14 rads, they've had direct contact!"

Simmons stood aside and said seriously, "Alright, everyone move out and take them all away. Don't forget the dog, tag it too, and remember to extract biological samples back at the lab."

As the order was given, several agents rushed forward and quickly handcuffed Liu Yuan, Mikaela, Sam, and Ronald and Judy. Their movements were skilled and decisive, giving no one a chance to resist.

Even Liu Yuan did not resist. He quietly watched everything happen, and then was stuffed into the back seat of the car by the agents. The car's engine roared, taking the group away from the scene.

After Simmons got in the car, he began to speak eloquently: "...These are the materials we have. I have reason to suspect that you have had contact with aliens, which involves national security. So you better cooperate with my investigation, otherwise, you will bear the consequences." At this point, he suddenly stopped, looking at Sam and the others, his eyes sharp, as if warning them not to try to hide anything.
