#578 - Chapter 15: The Fall of Optimus Prime (Part 2)

Optimus Prime drew a long arc in the sky before crashing heavily to the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust.

Seeing this, Megatron seized the opportunity, uprooting a thick tree from the side and throwing it without mercy. The tree flew like a cannonball, hitting Optimus Prime's back with a dull thud, worsening his already injured state.

Wielding two long-handled thermal swords, he charged aggressively towards the three Decepticons. His movements were incredibly swift, sweeping across the battlefield like a whirlwind. In the blink of an eye, the situation reversed in favor of Optimus Prime. His attacks were so fierce that they caught the Decepticons off guard. Starscream's half-wing was severed, and Megatron's leg was also stabbed, causing severe injuries. The worst off was Grindor, who had one of his arms torn off, spraying oil everywhere.

Optimus Prime's outburst naturally provoked a counterattack from the Decepticons. Grindor, his bloodlust ignited, charged forward and grabbed Optimus Prime's leg, pulling him to the ground and performing a powerful single-handed over-the-shoulder throw.

Just before landing, Optimus Prime tightly gripped Grindor's head with both hands, tearing at it with all his might. Starscream seized the opportunity to launch a sneak attack, using his wrist blade to blind Optimus Prime in one eye.

"Ah!" The shrill cry seemed to pierce through the clamor of the entire battlefield. Unlike humans, Transformers have souls, and pain is inevitable, with an even lower tolerance for it than humans. Stimulated by the intense pain, Optimus Prime unleashed his inner power, instantly entering an overload mode. With a sudden burst of force from his palms, Grindor's tough head was torn in half like a fragile toy under his immense strength, scattering fragments in all directions.

Immediately afterward, Optimus Prime raised his heavy right foot, kicking Starscream in the chest with the force of a thunderbolt. Starscream flew away at an incredible speed like a fired cannonball, and as he passed, rows of thick trees fell to the ground.

In the instant Optimus Prime unleashed his astonishing power, his body briefly entered an overload state due to the excessive load it was bearing. Consequently, his energy shield also experienced a temporary failure. Megatron keenly sensed this golden opportunity, and wielding his incredibly sharp battle blade, he pierced Optimus Prime's chest from behind like a bolt of lightning with a speed that defied the eye.

The power of this attack was so great that it penetrated Optimus Prime's entire body. The deep wound was shocking, causing extremely serious damage. A large amount of oil ignited, and flames instantly surged out, spreading across a large area of his body.

Megatron leaned close to Optimus Prime's ear, his tone full of triumph and contempt, "Stubborn fool, die!" As soon as he finished speaking, a huge amount of energy burst forth from his right hand like a flood. Megatron unhesitatingly fired an ultra-powerful plasma cannon at the breach in Optimus Prime's chest.

Bumblebee, like a bolt of lightning, arrived with Sideswipe, Ironhide, Ratchet, Arcee, Hound, and the Twins, a total of eight Autobots.

As soon as they arrived, the first thing they saw was Optimus Prime lying on the ground, his once incredibly powerful body now lying silently. The anger in their hearts was instantly ignited, and they immediately entered a berserk mode, shouting hoarsely, as if to vent all their hatred on the Decepticons, vowing to fight them to the death.

Although Megatron seemed to have successfully killed Optimus Prime, he and Starscream had also suffered considerable injuries. However, since half of their strategic goal had been achieved, they knew they could not afford to be taken down here as well. Therefore, Megatron made a decisive decision, taking the injured Starscream and quickly retreating.

During the retreat, they continued to engage in fierce battles with the Autobots, fighting and slowly retreating. Soon, they used their advantages to break away from the battlefield.
