#605 - Chapter 42: Rescue of the Natural Enemy
The Autobots moved with remarkable speed, boarding the ship named 'Cocklebur' and swiftly igniting the engines as they hurtled towards the moon. Before long, the Cocklebur landed smoothly on the lunar surface.
Optimus Prime, followed by his trusted lieutenants, disembarked. He turned to look at Ironhide, who was right behind him, their eyes meeting in a silent exchange of commands.
Ironhide nodded in understanding and immediately called out to the Autobots beside him, "Dino, Sideswipe, with me! Let's thoroughly inspect the area for any traces of Decepticon activity."
Meanwhile, Optimus Prime led Ratchet and Wheeljack directly towards the dilapidated ship. They effortlessly breached the external metal barriers of the wrecked vessel, successfully entering the cockpit. However, the scene that greeted them was horrifying – the entire cockpit was littered with the remains of Autobots, as if narrating the tragic tale of a fierce battle.
Wheeljack quickly rushed to a body, carefully examined it, and then shook his head with a sigh of helplessness, "Alas, these comrades have been dormant for far too long. The sparks within them have been completely extinguished, beyond any hope of revival."
Ratchet, after surveying the surroundings, gravely analyzed, "Judging by the extent of the damage to this ship, the Ark was likely destroyed when it left Cybertron. It then drifted alone in space for nearly a hundred thousand years without being discovered. What's even more astonishing is that it ultimately crashed on the moon!"
Optimus Prime, with heavy steps, approached the entrance to the stasis pod chamber. Gazing at the familiar yet alien scene before him, he fell into a silent contemplation, his mind swirling with countless thoughts. Ratchet, keenly aware of Optimus Prime's inner turmoil, unhesitatingly reached out to gently touch the control panel.
The moment his finger made contact, a faint light flickered. "Huh? I never imagined that after so many years, there would still be enough energy here to activate it," Ratchet exclaimed in surprise.
With a low, mechanical whirring sound, the once-sealed stasis chamber floor slowly parted to both sides, as if welcoming their arrival. Then, a sturdy platform rose gradually from below. Upon closer inspection, they saw Sentinel Prime lying peacefully on the platform, like a sleeping giant, and beside him, five metal pillars had popped out.
Ratchet, with quick reflexes, swiftly caught the metal pillars one by one and carefully examined them. After a moment, he excitedly shouted, "Optimus Prime, look! These are Sentinel Prime's space bridge pillars, and they're still functional!"
Hearing this, Optimus Prime slowly stepped forward, a hint of hesitation in his eyes, but he resolutely bent down and gently lifted Sentinel Prime into his arms. At that moment, time seemed to stand still.
Seeing this, Ratchet hurried forward to conduct a thorough examination of Sentinel Prime. After a while, he looked up and reported, "Upon examination, I've detected a faint energy signature within Sentinel Prime. Apparently, he initiated a self-sealing measure long ago to preserve himself. Unfortunately, due to the passage of time, he can no longer awaken on his own. To reactivate him, we'll need specialized equipment and a sufficient supply of energon."
After listening to Ratchet's report, a glint of light flashed in Optimus Prime's eyes. He said with unwavering determination, "That's wonderful! Sentinel Prime, my old friend, no matter the cost, I will bring you home."

Across the vast, boundless African savanna, a slightly outdated and somewhat dilapidated Mack Titan tanker truck was slowly making its way. The wheels crushed the withered grass, kicking up a cloud of dust. Finally, the tanker truck drove into an inconspicuous little village.
This village was filled with piles of discarded oil drums and various kinds of disorganized garbage, emitting a foul, pungent odor. Similar villages like this were common sights across the vast expanse of Africa.
Suddenly, with a screech of metal and the whirring of gears, the ordinary tanker truck began to undergo an astonishing transformation. The vehicle body rapidly twisted, folded, and reassembled. In just a few moments, it transformed into a massive mechanical figure tens of meters tall – Megatron! He stood majestically in place, like an immovable steel fortress. However, upon closer inspection, one would notice that he was draped in a tattered cloak, clearly used to conceal the badly damaged wound on his head.
Recalling the thrilling battle four years ago, Megatron's faction suffered a crushing defeat, and he himself was severely injured. Despite the passage of time, the extensive damage to his body had not been completely repaired, and those shocking cracks and broken components were still clearly visible.
Just then, a Decepticon, with only its head sticking out, suddenly emerged from the nearby sand. It was extremely excited, shouting with a strained voice, "Lord Megatron has returned!" This shout instantly broke the original tranquility of the village. Immediately afterward, a group of small Transformer hatchlings scrambled out from the surrounding piles of scrap metal. They cheered and leaped with joy, their faces filled with unconcealable delight.
"Don't be so hasty, eat slowly, my little darlings!" Megatron scooped up a handful of metal scraps from a barrel and scattered them among the little Decepticons. His relaxed demeanor was akin to a retired old man feeding fish, and in reality, it was quite similar. Megatron also needed to relax his terrible mood by feeding his pets.
Transformer hatchlings need to integrate some metal material and assimilate it with their spark during their growth, just like living beings grow by eating. What Megatron scattered was a powder mixed with transformed metal and alloy, and the source of the transformed metal came from the surrounding Transformer wreckage.
A whistling sound cut through the air, and an F-22 flew in, none other than Starscream. He landed next to Megatron, somewhat ingratiatingly saying, "Long time no see, Master Megatron. You don't look too good. It pains me to see you so weak!"
Megatron's condition was indeed not good, with many damaged areas not yet repaired. Many small medical robots were performing simple repairs on his damaged body. Megatron said in a bad mood, "Starscream, spare me your flattery. If you hadn't lost the Saturn base, would I be reduced to not even being able to find parts to repair my body?"
