Chapter 1960: Sun and Moon Clash

Shard kept silent, as the enemy before him was affected by Iluna’s "Balance". Although showing astonishing combat power, their strength had already started to decline from the Thirteen Rings.

He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, and as Iluna swung her sword to slash out a golden sword trace, he spread his arms and transformed into silver moonlight:

"Moonlight Slash!"

Two light traces simultaneously blasted the Diviner, who tried to grind down the sword light with spatial rift before swiftly flying to the left. But the Moonlight Slash: Fourth Form changed direction in mid-air, following and colliding with the gray spherical light shield surrounding the Diviner.

Gasping for breath, Shard was once again knocked back, and as he straightened his back, he saw the Diviner, though seemingly unharmed, had a cross-shaped cut on their clothing. Their power continued to diminish, and if this persisted, the advantage Shard and Iluna held would only grow.

"Moonlight Wheel!"

The casually tossed silver light wheel severed the tentacle extended towards Shard by Sloss Edwards, who was battling Megan. This humanoid formed by tentacles had completely abandoned its human shape, morphing into a terrifying snake-like form, facing Megan, who wore a disgusted expression.

Iluna once more charged at the Diviner with her sword, while Shard yanked off the black key from his chest, first slashing another moonlight toward the airborne Diviner, then disappearing from his spot:

"Thunder Spear!"

Holding the silver-white thunder with both hands, Shard appeared above the Diviner’s head, striking the thunder at the Diviner’s head. The spatial rift opened again but was immediately dispelled due to the "Spatial Stabilization Aura".

The Diviner’s right hand faced Iluna’s longsword while the left hand faced Shard’s spear. But this time, the scorching sunlight erupting from the [Night Watchman] finally severed his right hand, driving the sword blade into his heart.

And the [Yggdrasil’s Staff] wrapped in silver-white thunder pierced through his left hand, anchoring the Thunder Spear to half of his body.

The sunlight of [Night Watchman] and the moonlight from the [Yggdrasil’s Staff] exploded simultaneously, evaporating internal organs, destroying flesh, and ultimately shredding the humanoid body completely.

But when all was over, standing on the dining table, Shard and Iluna looked at the bloodied and mangled body before them, not at all joyful:

"Where is his true form?"

The earthquake beneath the giant tree continued, and the fleet of over twenty small boats finally landed fully, pushing the frontline to the island’s edges. The black tide symbolized the monsters created through various experiments over two hundred years, while the few Thirteen-Ring sorcerers trying to fly directly toward the blood-colored giant tree were intercepted by monsters emerging from wind-blown cards.

Due to Iluna’s Chosen One Talent affecting the enemies among the high-altitude debris, the battle by the Edwards Family members had tilted overwhelmingly, not needing Shard and Iluna’s assistance.

After killing the body before them, the two lifted their heads again, witnessing the blood-colored light shield enveloping the debris becoming transparent. Then, as the gale rustled the tree crown, sending chills down their spines, they gazed at the shadows and blood-red branches forming the massive upper body of the Diviner under the moon, as if his upper body grew out of the giant tree.

The giant tree swayed, and the "Blood-Colored Giant" formed by the tree crown lowered its head towards the debris at its chest. The enormous hands made from branches and shadows, nearly as large as mountains, closed in from both directions, slamming into the chunk of debris.

"Power of the Earth: Earth Energy Cannon."

"Moonlight Wheel: Second Form!"

The pair leaped toward the sky, raising their hands together.

The gathered sunlight formed a dazzling golden light orb in Iluna’s hands, resembling the sun in the long night; the brilliant gigantic silver light wheel spun rapidly above Shard’s palms, tranquil compared to the blurry triple moons in the sky.

The solar light orb was flung to the left, and the moonlight wheel gracefully flew to the right. As the giant tree swayed, finally causing the debris ground to shake violently, the Diviner’s tree crown-formed hands on both sides were all blown off amidst the humming sounds.

"Iluna, together!"

It had been a long time since Shard had engaged in such intense combat. The Spirits within him, rapidly consumed due to the fervor of his soul, vibrated with excitement as he drank the liquid from the perfume vial and then tossed it to Iluna.

The seamless cooperation in battle made Shard feel as if he could understand Iluna’s thoughts. The two of them, both possessing the power of Edwards’ Ascension Technique, had, by this final stage of the ritual, essentially achieved soul and elemental resonance.

The closeness between their hearts brought the two, mere inches apart, a sensation akin to touching each other’s souls just by meeting each other’s gaze. The seventeen-year-old girl, increasingly charged with emotion, recklessly drank a sip of essence from the vial and handed it back to Shard. Without needing Shard’s direction, she extended her longsword forward.

Shard similarly extended his long staff. The Angel-Level Relic [The Night Watchman] and the Angel-Level Relic [Yggdrasil’s Staff] formed a cross above them. The glimmer of the sun and moon converged, and even though they had never practiced or even discussed Arcane Technique Joint Attacks, at that moment, understanding each other, they were in perfect sync as they stimulated their powers.

The Giant Tree’s crown-bodied giant, having lost its arms, opened its mouth above the wreckage. A turbulent mass of blood-colored energy gathered, visible even to the people at the island’s edge, a blood-colored light orb expanding continuously under the moonlight at the giant tree’s crown.

While Shard and Iluna held hands, each clutching a sword and a staff, above them, the gigantic Moonlight Wheel appeared again. As the silver wheel rotated, the golden orb that expanded at its center perfectly fit within it.

As the blood-colored energy from the Giant Tree half-bodied giant’s mouth finally spewed downward towards the wreckage, the pair holding hands threw the sun and moon, light and orb composed Sun-Moon Arcane Technique upward.

The massive blood-colored beam spewing vertically downwards clashed with the intertwined gold and silver Arcane Technique power. In that instant, even the Spirits and elements within the twisted space were completely dispersed, driving away the rain clouds above the island.

The combined Arcane Technique used by Shard and Iluna bit by bit advanced upwards, the already harmonious brilliance of the sun and moon finally thoroughly suppressed those blood-red lights.

Moonlight Wheel: Earth Energy Cannon, ultimately struck head-on at the Giant Tree crown-bodied giant’s face. The banquet hall wreckage shook almost to a breakdown, while people all over the island watched in astonishment, as a gaping hole was punched straight through the giant’s face. With the annihilation of the Arcane Technique effect, the crown returned to normal state, and the transformed Giant-bodied Laplace Howard disappeared once again.

But no one felt this was the end, the perfectly executed full-power strike just now was already Shard and Iluna’s strongest attack method when they’re normal. Once confirming temporary safety, the two each drank more Pink Essence to restore their respective Spirits.

But it seemed Iluna’s resistance to this peculiar potion was far surpassed by Shard’s, and only after drinking twice did her face show a ’drunk’ blush.

Amidst the fallen red leaves and twigs resulting from the battle, the other fights on the banquet hall wreckage neared their end. The longer the battle dragged on, the more apparent Iluna’s unique Balance Talent was in suppressing her higher-level adversaries.

Eleventh Rank Grand Witch Megan didn’t even need Audrey to emerge to help; merely holding the Angel-Level Relic [Tome of Desire], she used a web-like trap appearing in the void to firmly lock her great-grandfather, transformed into a repulsive mass of tentacles, on the ground. Megan showed no trace of respect toward her ancestor.

Deprived of the auxiliary Angel Skeleton, the Ghoul Lich Three Brothers of the Fourth Generation, ultimately fell to the Sixth Generation’s two pairs of twins, as the increasingly complete Edwards’ Ascension Technique showcased their increasingly formidable Spatial Talent, forcing the three ghouls to be pinned within the ground’s indentation.

Beside them, Megan looked complexly at her father transformed into a ghoul, momentarily unsure of what to say.

Freed up, the Furen Brothers immediately aided their mother, Nadia Folan, in defeating Gratoni Edwards, who similarly wielding Dragon Strength. Though her power was considerable, for some reason she never utilized her Dragon Form.

Once all this was over, the Furen Brothers looked at their ’resurrected’ mother, Ms. Furen also gazed at her sons, but none were the first to speak.

As for Elder Green’s combat with his grandfather, Pride Edwards, it was even simpler. Now that the demon was vanquished by the doctor, the power-sourced demon was significantly weakened. Coupled with his almost complete lack of Intelligence due to soul degradation, while the Old Ghoul not only had the Undead Attribute but was also a seasoned Spellcaster, he was even the first to finish the battle.

Having dealt with the demon, Elder Green immediately turned to his cousin, his paternal uncle and Cultist, Jarvis Edwards. As a Six Rings Warlock, even wielding a dagger likely Keeper of Secrets Level capable of harming the soul, could confront Laster Edwards and Maria Edwards simultaneously; yet with the ghouls joining, he ultimately lost.

"Mother!"

Compared to other parent-child pairs’ restraint, Elder Green nearly dashed into his mother’s arms.

After Shard and Iluna defeated the transformed-half-bodied Diviner, they both heard Nicholas Green’s weeping:

"Mother, after you left, my life has been so arduous. Mother, mother..."
